Although the country is in severe recession, there is evidence that some industries will be able to overcome the recent financial crisis – including cosmetic surgery. Statistics revealed by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons revealed that there are a number of growth areas within this industry.

Perhaps more than any other group of surgeries, abdominoplasty – operations on the stomach including liposuction – has risen by 15 percent. There are a record number of men requesting tummy tucks, and in fact it has now risen above women’s demands for breast augmentation for the first time. Male plastic surgery has risen overall by around 6%.
