Dr Andrea Janeková elected to the board of directors of the Czech Society of Refractive and Cataract Surgery
We are thrilled to announce a momentous achievement at the Ophthalmology Center Prague – our esteemed doctor, Dr. Andrea Janeková, MD, FEBO, has been elected to the board of directors of the Czech Society of Refractive and Cataract Surgery (ČSRKCH). This achievement is both prestigious and historic, as Dr Andrea Janeková, MD. FEBO, has become one of the youngest members to join the society’s committee since its inception.

Dr. Janeková’s role extends beyond this recent success. As the head of the Refractive and Cataract Surgery Center at our workplace, she is pivotal in educating young doctors. She is actively involved in graduate programs and her academy, which imparts theoretical knowledge and practical skills to budding ophthalmologists.
Earlier this year, the Ophthalmic Center Prague received the highest level of accreditation from the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, making it an accredited workplace III. type for ophthalmology. This recognition allows the Prague Eye Center to conduct specialised training programs for ophthalmology and offer professional internships to medical facilities, including regional and university hospitals.
Dr. Janeková’s dedication to education extends internationally. She is an expert lecturer at the Cataract Refractive School, sharing her knowledge and expertise in eye microsurgery with younger colleagues. Additionally, she is a lecturer for teaching eye microsurgery at the Austrian company MTS, contributing to the training of novice surgeons.
Her international impact was recently highlighted when she was an expert lecturer at the 11th Balkan Eye Wetlab Course in Sofia, Bulgaria. Dr. Janeková, one of four expert lecturers, focused on cataract surgery and trained 50 participants from 12 different countries, further solidifying her status as a leader in the field.
Dr. Andrea Janeková’s journey is a testament to her commitment to advancing ophthalmology locally and internationally. Her contributions to education and her role in the ČSRKCH board of directors solidify her as a leading figure in the field of refractive and cataract surgery in the Czech Republic and beyond.
