Breast Augmentation Surgery: It is not all about the size

27. 3. 2014

When the topic of Breast Augmentation Surgery or Cosmetic Breast surgery is approached, many immediately think of Jordan, strippers, over-sized, mountainous, cleavage-bearing breasts that defy gravity and the clothing wrapped around them. But the majority of women who opt for Cosmetic Breast Surgery are more interested in finding the right size for themselves rather than obtaining overpowering breasts that enter the room before their body does.

There are many reasons women seek enhancements; most patients are average women who want to look great in a swimsuit, as well as in normal day to day clothes. Other motivating factors can include asymmetrical breasts, post surgery reconstruction, post pregnancy sagging, underdevelopment, sagging and flatness due to weight loss and body proportioning.

Many patients are asymmetrical, where one breast is larger or different in shape than the other, in some cases as much as a cup size in difference. For these women, simply finding a bra to fit comfortably and properly is impossible, and they are forced to add padding to create a uniform appearance in clothing, enhancement procedures bring balance and proportion to a patient’s form, allowing them to feel more comfortable in and out of clothing.

Pregnancy and nursing can have an adverse effect on a woman’s breast shape and size, causing sagging and or a change in the amount of breast tissue. These are women who simply want to return to their pre-baby size and shape.
